Conquer Divide

Holy shit, were my ears blown away this morning from the sextet group Conquer Divide and their brand new single "Sink Your Teeth Into This".  You can check out the single below and get yourself all pumped up for the July 24th self-titled release via Artery Recordings.

In case you didn't catch it in the video, the song features Asking Alexandria's new vocalist Denis Shaforostov.  I have to say that the collaboration sounds both very metalcore, and very energetic.  Overall, I am impressed and will be picking up a copy of the album if it sounds anything like the debut single.  The album is being produced by Joey Sturgis, who has also worked with artists such as We Came As Romans, Asking Alexandria, and The Devil Wears Prada.  Something definitely to sink your teeth into. ;-)

"Well, these girls have been spending time, you know, a year, maybe two years writing some of these songs, and when you have that much time invested into a project, it's definitely passionate.  So I knew I had to be involved in some way, because I really like to work with passionate musicians who really care about what they're doing." -Joey Sturgis

So as mentioned before, the debut self-titled album will be released on July 24th, 2015 via Artery Recordings.  Album artwork and track listing can be seen below, as well as their second single "At War".  All I can say is that I am really liking what I am hearing thus far!

"We wanted to stay true to our roots.  Everything we've written comes from a real life experience. Music, like any art medium, has always been a form of catharsis for us, it's all about trying to take something negative that happened in your life and turn it into something positive. And we've had a lot of pent up anger to get out on this record. But we did our best to move past those issues and turn them into something for the greater good, because, I think, the whole idea is, if I can't heal from my art, how can you heal from it?

Yeah, we've poured our hearts into this record and we really hope people can connect with it on some level.  We really wanted to take our time on our first album, and because of that, we've grown tremendously as songwriters. So this album really reflects where we've been, where we are and where we are headed." -Kristen

So be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more music coming your way from these hard hitting ladies.  Despite the fact they could be written off as another female fronted money maker for a record label, I truly believe there is some major talent here that is finally getting the spotlight.  Congrats to Conquer Divide on their ink deal with Artery, and hope for some more great tunes!

"This record is the culmination of many years of hard work. It's a representation of where we've been and where we are headed musically. It's something we are all proud of." -Kristen

If you are lucky enough to have the All Stars 2015 tour coming through your town, be sure to grab tickets as these ladies will serve as an opening act for the tour.  Cheers!
